I've done researches on my family background.

Researches is common British English.

Really? "Done researches" gives 1210 ghits, but only 29 of them are UK
sites.

Yes, really.

How do you define "common"? And why do you say "common British English"? Do
you assert that it's common here but not elsewhere?

I dislike the noun "researches" in the same way that I dislike "trainings",
and I don't believe that either is "common British English".
