I don't think so. Since the correct statement woulda been "If I had
known", then "If I'd known" would be proper. However, in a
story-tellin' dialect, "If I'd'a' known" is understood as a contraction
of the ungrammatical, though frequently heard "If I had ( or "would") of
known".


"I would have known the answer to that one"

---> "I'd'a' known the answer to that one"

There's no "if" in the expression getting contracted. -- Mike Hardy
