It's hard to tell her that I'd rather not receive mail with
attachments, because she doesn't know what an attachment is.
I just encountered one of those. We sent out competition results as
pdf files and included a link to a free download site, in case they
didn't have a pdf reader.
A teacher emailed back that she couldn't find her report at that link.
Rather hard to tell her how to open an attachment when I have no idea
how her email looks on her machine or even if the attachment was
stripped by her server.
It took me a while to discover that some new update made attachments
appear only if I clicked onto "Show Full Header".
She has replied thusly "Sorry Hans! I must have been having a really
blonde moment!"
"Who Hans?", I thought; she must still be blonding. Then, on a hunch,
I googled "Sorry Hans" and it may be a quote from Die Hard. If that
was what she meant, "Sorry about that Chief" would have worked better
for me.
