Are there other verbs or nouns in the English language that have two
negative forms?

My favorite pair is misinformation and disinformation. Followed
closely by their cousins disinterested and uninterested.

Probably, though I can't immediately think of an example. However,
I've often thought it odd that "conquer" and "defeat" are (more or
less) synonymous, whereas "conquest" and "defeat" are opposites.

Dunno about that latter. The conquest of Mexico and the defeat of the
Axtecs both look the same from either side of the event.

If anyone happens to trip over Purl Gurl, please point out to her that
there's a big difference between ignoring her and dropping out
completely. Having decided that she's crazy, I'd just as soon avoid
her -- but that's her[1], not all of AUE. Most of my absences from
AUE have coincided with my absence from home, from whence I post, and
of course it takes a while each time to get the rhythm back.

[1] What? You wanted "that's she"? Tsk.
