Nearly all the world's misery and unhappiness would disappear at one fell swoop if perceptions changed, i.e., if people were grateful for what they had.
Grateful? Doesn't that require an object towards which to address the gratitude? Towards whom should the people of Zimbabwe be grateful.
Personally, I'm content rather than grateful.
