It's been recommended before, I'm sure, but in your situation I'd
consider http://news.individual.net as a news service. The cost is 10
Euro/year, about $13 US. I'm not sure what that is in UK pounds.
I had to use GG for a period of time in 2005, and it was a pretty rough
go. I didn't have any choice at the time.
