For comparison to another kind of equilibrium, Ron, if object A can be
balanced stably on object B, and object B on object C, it doesn't
follow that A can be balanced stably on C.
We could say that the 0th Law of Thermodynamics is a statement that
thermal equilibrium is an equivalence relation. (I suppose we also
need reflexivity and symmetry, but apparently those are /really/ too
obvious to mention.)
Well, sure, if you want to abandon any pretense of rigor....r
