From the use of small, brown, paper bags for carrying one's lunch. I've
got a drawer of them in the kitchen, but can't find any on-line. It was
the standard way of carrying lunch when I was a kid -- nowadays children
are more likely to have insulated bags, it seems.

Sometimes in "Brown
Bag" event, the event shows "lunch is provided".

That's just weird.
