Quoting from that story:

When shown a picture of a baseball player [batting], men's eyes
zeroed in on two areas: the face, and the crotch.

Women, on the other hand, only looked at the face.

First of all, judging by the accompanying pictures, the women looked
at the face (and, more than the men, the cap/logo) and chest/shoulder,
and the men looked at the face (and a bit in front) and the crotch and
back-leg thigh.

Speaking as a baseball coach, I have to wonder whether this shows
anything more than that men are more likely to process the picture in
a dynamic athletic context and focus on the situationally important
part--the rear leg and hip are where the power in the swing is going
to come from[1], so that's worth watching--while women are more likely
to treat it as a static image of a person.

I would certainly hope that nobody would read anything sexual into the
fact that I'm rarely paying attention to my kids' faces when I'm
coaching them on their swing.

[1] For those unfamiliar with baseball, the first step in a batter's
swing is that the hips swivel so that the navel faces the pitcher.
The hands and bat follow a split-second later.
