Well, I live in Australia now and have done for the last 33 years, but serving children alcohol in your own home has always been legal as far as I know. If it wasn't, it certainly didn't stop people if that's what they thought was right. I think there might be laws about giving very young children alcohol, although if my memory serves me correctly, it is a major ingredient in gripe water.

It was. Spiritus rectificatus; I forget the percentage. Stronger than beer.

But can you still get it?
