I've seen that quotation mangled in so many different ways
that I will cite the exact book or play when I find it, someday.
THE MAN SPOKE ENGLISH! WHY DO PEOPLE %$*& IT UP?
From: <http://www.bartleby.com/157/6.html>, line 124 ("REASON" in
"Maxims for Revolutionists" from "Man and Superman", placed online by
Bartleby.com): "The reasonable man adapts himself to the world: the
unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself.
Therefore all progress depends on the unreasonable man." Looks like
the only change Don made was to replace the colon with a semicolon.
Or maybe Bartleby screwed it up. Wanna bet on that?
I didn't change anything and also don't remember where I found the quote. I'll attempt to reconstruct the crime.
