Formal register: fewer
No, WRONG! Both registers demand 'less' in this case.
If you can count them, formal register demands "fewer".
Ordinarily true, but not here. 'Fewer' demands two or more objects, in
other words, the plural.
"That's two fewer things to worry about..."
Am I the only one who feels compelled to change "two fewer things" to "two
things fewer"?...r
