Ok, to clarify: Wordsmith you are _most_ welcome. Just don't get
put off by some members of this group who may be rather rude and
unkind to a newbie. It nearly put _me_ off.
Fine words from a trilling tamponette who screeched outrage to the
world about how she had killfiled me when I was unaware of her
existence. It turned out that she had mistaken me for someone else
but lacked the infinitesimal amount of moral fibre needed to
apologise.
O, Fibrous One: did I miss your apology for repeatedly and grumpily
referring newbies (without URL) to the RFC that doesn't say what you think
it ought to say?
There is nothing in any of the RFCs that requires the citation of URLs when referring to them! Where on earth did you get that idea? Go back to the RFCs and read 'em. And besides, the majority of ISPs include the guidelines on postings to the Usenet as part of their AuPs which users sign! What's the point of drawing peoples attention to contracts they've already got?
Apart from anything else, if you read all the above you will make the brain-befuddling discovery that I wasn't talking to you. I rarely bother with those too timid or too lacking in self-esteem to use real names. I've already decided that you're a cringing coward. It's but a small step for me to take to look upon you as a mono-celled, mud-dwelling estuary creature with a predilection for eating its own excrement.
