It's not only a sentence, but a parsible one and a cross-thread reference
to several related issues.

We can drop it when you stop posting about it. The smiley, as you well
know, is indicative of a certain inadequacy in English usage that is
traditionally (small-t) not admitted to here. The Oy! bait is of course
passed over with minimal notice.

This would seem to contradict the smiley in a way that might strike terror
into the hearts of *some* people. It's uncharacteristic of you, and I'm
frankly surprised by it, so I'll take it as an attempt at humor and a sign
of the Logical Argument Meter being on Empty [= AreffE "LAM-E"].

Ways of dropping a matter (in approximate order of effectiveness) include:

(1) Stating an argument with effective-enough English usage to convince
the other party,

(2) Not further posting comments or hints about it,

(3) Posting about how busy one is,

(4) Calling the other party's statements irrelevant, and

(5) Insulting the other party.

I could bring up unrelated issues by way of analogy, but that would seem
to be making gratuitous comments or hints about them. I'll wait until
someone else does so. At least you seem to content yourself with hints
and comments. *Some* people aren't as enlightened as you.
