No, no. You were making an elegant play on words, tying it the

It is with great regret that I must let you down. (Horrors! Now I'm
ending sentences with prepositions. There it is again, only this time
prepositions--plural. I'm going from bad to worse. Or worser, to
refer back to another old thread. I hope I don't get any worserer.)
When I saw the word 'elegant' applied to any writing of mine I had to
seek the source in a vain attempt to learn, to duplicate, to possibly
become--dare I to ever hope it?--eloquent. Alas, no. (Not this time,
anyway.) It is as I feared; instead, I have to clear up a
misconception.
I had no confusion between Danish and Dutch, and I intended no
wordplay. In fact, I hadn't even noticed that there was any confusion
elsewhere.
Over in alt.folklore.urban, they make a ritual out of deliberately
confusing "Australia" and "Austria." Oh, what fun and merriment ensues
when a newcomer corrects them. (It's become quite tedious, really.)
I can imagine. Maybe we need to introduce Europe's newest ultra-plush
little country to this Dutch / Danish discussion: Deluxembourg.
Bedankt anyway, Donna. Maybe next time.
