No sir. To provide evidence requires that one knows in advance what
consitutes a proof or a standard to whom would accept the evidence.

If the literal meaning of the word does not suffice - Philosophy - I admit
the interpretation is unusual, but then again, so is wisdom itself unusual.
And any claims about our understanding of it are therefore modulated by the
same measure. Q.E.D. [that is a literal 'sophistry', no?]

I hadn't intended to dilate on it as much as to contrast an Idea with what
has supplanted it.

For the sake of discussion, both Ideas can be entertained, regardless of
their past and present meanings. To wit; what do we name,

a) reflection upon experience
b) speculation absent experience
