Unfortunately, losing things is not ususual for me now. Absentmindedness is to blame. My excuse is that I have so many important things on my mind (AUE posts and the like) that the routine matters just don't qualify for my attention.

Does my excuse sound reasonable?

Very reasonable. On Saturday, I got a phone call from the dry cleaner's. Apparently, the pair of trousers I had picked the previous Saturday had been found in at the baker's next-door, where I must have left them. We're not talking about a neatly folded parcel, but a pair of long pants on a hangar, and yet I managed to leave them behind.

At least, I'm OK on the day of the week: I have to remember which days the nurse comes to give my mother a shower, and when she goes to the Association for the Blind and when she goes to swimming physio, and then there's the day when my cleaning lady comes, so most days have some kind of "marker". Today, Monday, is a free day!
