I'm not sure what you're trying to say here. Only a strong person can
survive; only the strong can survive?

always

That's grammatical, but not idiomatic -- one doesn't generally speak of
"pieces of sugar". In informal AmE you can say "two sugars", where a
"sugar" is some unit of sugar (e.g. a teaspoon, packet [= BrE
"parcelette"?], or a conventionally-sized sugar cube).

Some years ago a terrible car accident happened.

"has gone out", and change the comma to a semicolon unless you speak TCE
(NTTAWWSTCE).

The ringed seal (?) is an endangered species and is protected.

A while ago I put Christmas lights on the top of my window.

"grateful"
