Do you rhyme that "booger" with "cougar" or "sugar"? I worked with a
man from Kentucky around 1970, perhaps 35 years old at the time, who
pronounced it "booger", like "sugar". It seemed to be a taboo word
for him, and I had the impression he was avoiding the "rugger"
pronunciation out of politeness.
