Mickwick writes from the land where it's always sunny and bright for
garden parties and fetes when they are filmed for television shows and
movies, but the sun is something described to small toddlers so that
it won't startle them when it comes out one day.

You and I live in the land where the sun is something to be reckoned
with. When driving, it isn't so much the sun in your eyes as it is
the bright reflections of the sun off of other automobiles and
reflective surfaces.

To really appreciate how you can forget to take off your sunglasses
indoors, you have to have prescription sunglasses. When you always
wear some type of glasses, you don't always notice that you haven't
changed them. My [prescription sunglasses are bifocals.
