Didn't have a clue: MOXI. Found them. What is the true purose, need
of an ethernet connection?

Why didn' they simply emply WiFi? Sent MOXI support these questions.

The Moxi is a 3 tuner Linux machine. It has onboard instructions to go to internet to get OS. (Change hard drive and reboot and good to go.) The Guide that allows recording is updated and internet is used for that and browsing including Hulu.
As far as wired vs wireless...wired just plain works! Wireless has dependencies on security and other pitfalls. Wired, just plug it in and go.
