bypass the DTA.
One solution I have seen posted is to use a splitter before the DTA, and
an A/B switch to the RF input on the TV. The problem is, this weakens
the signal, and the DTA's have really crappy tuners.
Ideally, a dual A/B setup would be best, with an A/B switch both before
and after the DTA. I'm wondering if somebody knows of an all-in-one type
situtation. Basically a box with RF IN and RF OUT, and 2 more
connections for CONVERTER IN and CONVERTER OUT. By flipping a switch, it
would pass the RF through the DTA, or bypass it and go direct to the TV.
I haven't had a chance to do some detailed searching yet, so maybe they
are easy to find. I just though I'd post this before I forgot.
But is that RF output a "pass-thru" when the DCT700 is powered down?
If not (and Motorola's website doesn't say it is), it won't pass thru
ClearQAM HD signals. When powered up, the DCT700 is an SD device.
