Point taken; but for a purchase of $hundreds I'd be much more reassured by
actually seeing the bezel. In any case, I'll check out BB this weekend.
I think you'll find some.
We bought a budget 37" Vizio from Sam's a couple weeks ago and at
that time BB carried 37" LCDs from 3 different manufacturers. I think
they are becoming more common.
Went to BB yesterday. Sure enough, there are about a half dozen 37" sets
on display, but I eliminated the non-brands like Proscan, Insignia; the
one with build-in DVD player. Probably the cheapest was the $750 LG
37LH30. Its bezel measured 1 7/8" on the right side which would make it a
perfect fit inside our entertainment center enclosure with no loss of LCD
viewing area. There are controls on the right edge but as long as the
remote control duplicates those functions, it's not an issue. But then
I pulled out my phone and read a review which said it had audio, black-level
and motion blurring issues and that frankly at that price point it would
be better to get a better-performing 32" model!
I also looked at the many 32" sets; of which the vast majority on display
were 720p. From the expected viewing distance (across our bedroom) which I
could not duplicate in the store aisle, I'm also wondering whether the
difference between 720 and 1080 would be obvious on a 32" set. From 2 feet
away the 720p sets certainly looked like crap in the store.
