In article <h2oi5g$2aj$1@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>, noone@xxxxxxxxxxx says...
Let's say a broadcaster is broadcasting in 1080i/p and the max for my TV is
720p. What will I see when I tune to that station? Will I get a 720p
picture or nothing?
I don't know if there are any TV's that are truely 720p. A TV that has
less than a 1080 vertical resolution, but 720 or more vertical is
typically called '720p class'. In reality, many of these TV's have a
vertical resolution of 786 or 900.
As others mentioned, any resolution sent that it recognizes is converted
to that display resolution.
