It was you who said that all DVDs average no more than 4.69

Nope. My original statement, pasted (from May 1):

Chip
Nor am I. Perhaps your authoritative definition of HD will enlighten us all?
You would agree that less than 10 mbps MPEG2 a/v conforms to DVD, yes?
Thus my logic: if it fits on DVD, plays on DVD, it must be a DVD. Is there any dispute about DVD quality vs. HD quality?
Hard to make that statement since DVDs are only 480, not 720 or 1080. And
don't be confused: While the 650nm laser on DVD players can read at a
maximum of 10.5 Mbps, actual DVD video is but a portion of this. The
average rate for video and audio is less than 4.7 Mbps, not 10 Mbps."

I'm *still* waiting for you to quote where I said "all DVDs average no more
than 4.69 Mbps.
"DVD audio/video averages less than 4.7 Mbps. What channels advertised
as HD are as low as 4.7 Mbps?"
Similar, but still way off. Saying "all DVDs average..." is far different
than saying "DVD audio/video averages..."

pointless to continue this sidetrack, but if you'd like to counter this time line, please do - WITH time stamped references.
What's to counter? You *still* haven't shown where I wrote what you
claimed I did.
Does this in any way refute the math proffered to dispute your claim. Perhaps, when you're able to get a new DVD drive and examine a few of your own DVDs, you'll consider that more accurate than the non-math-supported URLs you've scanned for.
I'm *still* waiting for you to explain how you measured 4.57+ GiB of
data for a movie (without menus, trailers, etc.) on a disc that doesn't
hold that much data.
