That's a fact of life, though, and add legislators and their staff.
The numbers that matter come from your wallet, not your calculator.
The advance of any technology slows down when most people find it

case you need a Ph.D in electrical engineering and considerable
experience in digital communications and radio propagation to
realistically understand the issues. I was merely the lab tech,

When you think of lawyers running things at broadcasters and the FCC, and for that matter in Congress, all you have to compare to are the lawyers at the SEC who could not see the Madoff scam for what it was even though people who understood finance were screaming at them for ten years.

Same same at the FCC with regard to 8-VSB.

8-VSB is just another scam that is/will continue letting cable and satellite and the Telcos to scam the American DTV viewer for BILLION of $$$ for years to come.

I would say the 8-VSB scam is costing the average US citizen $10 to $15 a month maybe more in higher cable and satellite bills or even a bill at all.

There are 110 million households. Cable and satellite have 94 million of them. At $10 each that would be close to a billion $$$ a month in scam or a $12 billion scam a year. Madoff took maybe $20 billion tops in real cash from his victims. The rest was fictional gains that never existed. If you add a little interest to the $12 billion 8-VSB scam over the last 10 years you can come up with a trillion dollars in scam.

That is before you factor in the 10 times overcharge LG is charging us for their IP royalty rights to 8-VSB. Hey if you buy a big government you deserve something right?

In ignorance is bliss. How many scams taking us to the poor house can we afford??? When do we just get there and it stops?
