Get great reception on my new tv using attic antenna (digital channels 2
thru13/ live 13 miles from Manhattan).

Uhf reception, with bow tie, is only mediocre. Hoping this will improve
after Fer.

Meanwhile, can anyone reccommend a good ,small UHF antenna for indoors?

Believe it or not...this little antenna does great. I've installed it in
three older folks living rooms and they all get great reception of all the
channels in the Seattle Market.
