Where in Connecticut are you?
the antenna is in Naugatuck, on the west side of a hill near RT 8.
I would suggest that if you get nothing but snow on any channel, you have a gross problem in the wiring -- a broken wire, a center pin not making contact, something like that. Something that's likely to show up with visual inspection.
new quad cable
unknown, probably?!
I would suggest with any antenna connected at all, you should get *something* in analog, on at least one channel, just about anywhere in Connecticut. (now, if the antenna is messed up that "something" might not look very good, and might not work at all in digital, but in analog you should see *something*.)
Is it possible the center conductor on one or more of the coax cables is too short, and isn't making contact? The tip of the center conductor should be flush with the end of the connector shell -- some installers let it stick out a (very) little bit.
Was the SDTV previously used with cable?
There's an initial setup that
chooses whether cable or an antenna is used. If that setting is wrong, you will only get VHF stations OTA analog -- UHF stations won't work. Since almost all OTA TV in Connecticut is UHF that would be a problem!
i will check this out when I get over there.
thank you,
peter
