Okay, but now I suppose one has to determine the definition of another's 'need', and from where I sit, that's a subjective evaluation that I'm only qualified to decide for myself.
Given that the discussion started with someone claiming that cable TV in the 70s was all about getting better reception and not at all about getting more channels, I chose to use the "use for good/use for evil" theme.
Well, I agree that cable TV was invented to improve reception, but now, some still need the local farm reports while others need Showtime.
