Re: A Bewildering Array of HDMI Cable Choices

In-Wall Cable:

Solid conductors within cables are more efficient than stranded
conductors.

Cables with stranded conductors, although not as good electrically, are
flexible, so they are more practical to use. FOR IN-WALL WIRING,
however, the *rigidity* of solid conductors poses no problems.

The inferiority of stranded-conductor cable is seldom apparent in runs
of less than fifteen feet. The efficiency/inefficiency of
solid/stranded cable must be balanced against *other* properties, such
as wire gauge, wire material, shielding, and dielectric material.

For a 3-6 foot cable, I doubt that you'll notice a difference between
the best and worst cables.
