If you are complaining about the need for an antenna then read on.

What do you expect? The only way to avoid the middleman is to install an
antenna and pick up the broadcast transmission directly. A small
"walkie-talkie" type antenna may work for some near the transmitter tower,
others may need an attic antenna and for long distance reception, a larger
outside antenna may work. Either move near a broadcast tower or bring a
network of broadcast towers to you to avoid all but the smallest antenna,
which will likely cost you a monthly fee or subscription commitment. For me
its a no brainier, I'll do whatever is required (within reason) to avoid
another monthly fee; especially for an asinine goal.
