Please verify the following statements:
The TV will upconvert a fed signal (say DVD at 480p) to 1080i.
The upconverting DVD player will feed an upconverted 1080p signal to
the TV.
The TV is a Sony XBR that has the ability to display 1080p; the DVD
player has the 1080p upconversion capability (also Sony).
Hence, it appears that the DVD player upconversion should be a better
way to go.
Not sure if there will actually be any discernible difference. I have
the equipment and was wondering if I'm looking at the parameters
correctly. TIA.
your tv will be upconverting to 1080p also if it's a plasma or lcd -
remember that a plasma or lcd screen is progressive - everything it displays
will end up that way.
