ok so I have windows media center attached to my LG37 inch through a
DVI to HDMI cable. Also, I have an RCA to RCA connector to get the
sound. I was having problems with an ATI video card (it never could
run at 1080p in full color and full 60 hz), so today I switched to a
NVIDIA 8400 GS card,

Now everything works fine on the video but I get no audio unless I
pull out the DVI and then I hear the audio just fine through that
channel.

I am assuming that the tv thinks that it is getting audio
from the hdmi and is not looking for audio through the RCA port?

Yup. . . . . Or the RCA output on the PC is being disabled somehow. I'd
first check the soundcard menus to see how it's outputting your audio. It
may have changed [by itself] when you switched video cards. You probably
want to be looking for SPDIF [digital/coax "RCA"], IIRC. Or something
screwy like that.

really have no idea, and TV without sound really stinks since all I
have to do to hear the sound is to pull out the HDMI plug.

Thanks for any help in reconciling this problem.

Stephen
