Yes indeed, startup on the BDP-300 is
painful. No high definition player
however, is as fast as a standard DVD,
none.

One exception is the PS3, it certainly is
as quick as any standard DVD player I've
used.
Thanks to the upgrade capability over the internet, the PS3 will
probably remain that way for 2.0 BDs.
