Hi,
Summary: how do I disable this TV to display the current input
selection in the upper right corner?
Details:
I recently bought a Sony KDL-26P3000E to replace my Panasonic 70cm
Widescreen. I chose to upgrade because of HDMI and VGA being
available, so I could connect a Linux based Home Theatre System to it,
based on MythTV.
This has worked for some time, until some sound configuration problem
promted me to reinstall it. This was successful, it is back to
working again, but from then on, the TV would display the input
selection in the upper right corner. After a couple of seconds, the V-
Zoom on the center bottom will go away, as well as the resolution of
1360 X 768 X 60 as soon as the signal stabilizes (or as soon as the TV
thinks so!)
Any other channel does not have this problem (VGA, all other AV and TV
inputs), it's only the two HDMI ports. This is very annoying, as with
MythTV I need to see this area (when accessing other programs like
Firefox, the menu starts top left)
Things I have tried: power down the TV, disconnect from mains, changed
inputs from one to the other HDMI input, as well as checked every nook
and cranny of the menu.
Is there a way to disable displaying this totally? My Panasonic had a
service menu, where you could do stuff like pincushion adjustment)
Any help will be appreciated. It's so annoying, that I will have it
returned if not fixed.
Regards,
P.
