Having finally connected a TOSLINK cable between ny Sony TV and AVR, the TV passes DD5.1 to the AVR when I'm watching HD OTA. My AVR frontal display shows the current audio format, changing between the program and embedded commercials from time to time. I never knew some commercials are using DD5.1 audio along with HD video content.
