In July, 2006, I purchased my first HDTV, a 32" for $1350. Today,
just 18 months later, that same TV sells for 45% less.
This makes me wonder, what were HD prices 3-5 years ago?
As I'm considering another HD set, should I buy or wait? Here are my
points:
*** Now that Xmas and (by next Monday) ther SuperBowl are over, will
there be another round of price drops?
*** With analog cutoff only 12 months away, will there be a flurry of
buying in 2008? With a flurry of buying, what motivation do
manufacturers have to lower prices now?
*** If there is a buying spree before the cutoff, will sales (and
prices) do a free fall after the cutoff? Will there be too much
supply?
Why would you expect anyone here to know these things? What you are
going to get is a bunch of completely uninformed opinions and guesses.
