DLP tv's costs thousands less than plasma of similar sizes and with
similar features. Even if you spent $200 a year on repairs (which I
don't), it will be 8-15 years before you will have spent as much as
the plasma originally cost. That even ignores the time value of money
on the plasma(you could invest the $4k you saved by going DLP and
easily get $200 a year in interest). Not to mention that after that
8-15 years your plasma will be in much worse shape.
The "recurring cost" argument of DLPs is for fools who can't do math.
If asked, I bet most would say that low costs is DLPs single biggest
advantage.
