HD DVD has a wider variety of better sound than Blu-Ray!
odds are that that is true
given that almost all (all?) HD-DVD movie disks
come with a minimum of DD Plus (DD+) sound,

and given that the large majority of Blu-ray movie
disks only use standard DD, the open question is:
for those hi-def movies that are offered in both
formats, does the multichannel sound of HD-DVD
movies actually *sound* better than Blu-ray movies?
i've yet to see a comment on this from anyone that
owns both a Blu-ray player and a HD-DVD player
but i have a sneaking suspicion that the normal
HD-DVD movie sounds better than it's
Blu-ray counterpart

Sadly your suspicions are incorrect. I have tallied over 1,000
HD DVD
reviews and over 1,000 Blu-ray reviews and the numbers speak
for
themselves.
Average HD DVD sound rating - 3.67 stars
Average Blu-ray sound rating - 3.96 stars
Average HD DVD picture rating - 3.84 stars
Average Blu-ray sound rating - 3.94 stars
This would be 1,000 owners of both players who have listened
(blindly) to the same video in both formats on the same audio
equipment?
