| Well, I half fixed the problem. - Yes, it's a new PC.

15-bit color is 5 bits (32 levels) for each color. 16-bit is just one more
bit which might be on the green channel.
I can tell it's 16-bit color if there are any smooth color gradients in the
image. I've even seen it on occaision with 24-bit. 30-bit would be better.
You should not have to drop to 16-bit to get decent performance. But it
might be an issue with the video card or its driver. Dell should have
integrated all this properly and tested it with HD video.
