Currently have comcast digital TV (upgraded from exp basic). Looking at
buying an HD tv. Was wondering is it possible to pick up the HD DVR stb
from a local comcast center and do the install myself? I'm tech savy
enough pretty much, have hooked up surround sound, tivos, computers, etc.

They gave me one to install. They don't give you the manuals. I had to
download the HD-DVR manual from the Scientific Atlanta site, and the generic
Comcast remote control manual from the Comcast site,
