I am starting to see DVD/VHS recorders with ATSC DTV tuners. I need to move some old VHS tapes to DVD to edit and having only OTA I want to update my old VCR do I can record (at SD). Does the DVD/VHS recorder's ATSC tuner record BOTH to DVD and VHS. (I would use VHS tapes for day to day stuff I didn't want to keep, and DVDs for programs I want to keep)

Just thought I should also say I already know the DVD/VHS ATSC tuner is ONLY SD and can't be used for HDTV. I can (and do)use my laptop with a USB ATSC tuner for HD) I now tape (VHS) SD using an old SIR-T151 plugged into the VCR. I am just trying to reduce the number of boxes (and remotes)stacked around my HDTV.
Thanks again,
