Something else no one has mentioned is multipath (ghosting). You might be
able to tolerate an analog channel with ghosts, but similar reception
problems can block the digital signal from being displayed.
Digital multipath problems used to be a very common topic of discussion many
place on the net but just not seeing threads on it as much anymore. While
I'm sure that there are those that still suffer a location that mulipath is
an issue it would seem that newer tuner are doing a much better job handling
the problem. As for tuners in computers many times switching tuner solves
the problem, while still possible it doesn't appear to affect as many today
as better tuner designs have corrected for multipath pretty well.
