HDTV.Hi all,
I am attempting to hook a computer up to my old rear projection Sony
onI ran an S-video cable from my video card to an available S-video input
athe TV. I then go into desktop, Properties, Settings, I choose the 2nd
monitor (my TV) and then choose "Extend my windows desktop onto this
monitor". I do get output onto my TV, but it is constantly scrolling at
insteadrate faster than is legible. I have tried different resolutons and they
all
do the same. Any ideas on how I can resolve this ?
Thank you,
Duke
First, go get your kitchen trash can and put it next to your seat, because
you may be pulling out HUGE amounts of your hair.
Seriously this type of thing can be a nightmare.
The first suggestion I would make is to try the YPrPb output adapter
of the S-video jack.
Or, if that HDTV is very elderly, it may have a VGA input and that might
make things somewhat easier [if your card supports DVI+VGA, that is.]
My 2 scents.
Obviuosly S-Video isn't the best picture but it should work. Scrolling might
be a refresh rate problem. AFAIK you can't display video to the extended
desktop anyway. I think you want to use Theater mode.
alt.comp.periphs.videocards.ati would be the best place to ask.
