It's inevitable that ATSC modulators will be available for the
consumer market. I once thought that a WiFi connection might be a
solution for playing hard drive HDTV recordings to a multimedia player
connected to my HDTV set, but so far wireless G fails, even a hardwired
TCP/IP connection doesn't work without problems.
Huh. Tell Apple, who has bet the farm on 802.11n and the AppleTV.
Just to clarify, I am having problems with multimedia players I have tried
so far. It is not a problem with wireless g. PC to Laptop via wireless g (54
mbs) plays HD recordings fine. PC to my current multimedia player via
wireless g, on the other hand, does have problems; most likely caused by
software. The multimedia player works fine using it's internal hard drive;
but not with a wired TCP/IP or a wireless g connection.
