Is that a CRT, RPTV?
HD-XA2 for $529.99+14.95 shipping (CompUplus from Google Products)
Total of $2294.71 which is about $1200 less than the TW56F80 and SD-3000 I bought 10 years ago. I still have the TW56F80, but the SD-3000 didn't make it that long.
How is the convergence and other settings on the old set?
I touch up the convergence once or twice a year, whether it needs it or not. It usually only takes a few minutes to get it about as good as it can get. The geometry has gotten better over the years as the convergence controls that, too.
It has very slight burn in due to SWMBO "watching" the DirecTV music stations (black 4:3 area with grey bars). It's visible in B&W or nearly monochrome scenes, invisible in full color scenes.
What would it take to get rid of it? Does anyone take those big things for recycling?
If the Salvation Army turns it down, I'll try GoodWill Industries. Then Freecycle or I have to pay to have it taken to the dump. Too bad, too. It still works very well.
