I set up the HD-XA2 to play 480i over component outputs. It looks great,
but I can't say for sure that it looks any better than the $50 Toshiba DVD
player it replaced. There is no way for me to do direct comparisons, much
less blind or double blind.

The disk tray seems to be *very* flimsy. I was more than a bit surprised
by that. I guess I'll just have to continue being careful.

BTW, I am really impressed by Onecall's customer service. I have called
them twice, due to my credit card company declining my charge because they
thought it might be fraudulent. Both times I spoke with someone who was
not in India, knew what they were talking about, understood my problem and
did what they said they would do. Refreshing, no?

If your DVD upconverting looks anything like what I'm seeing with my HD-A2,
you'll be very very happy with it.
(Up till now, the best I had seen was with my MyHD decoder card)


Have you seen this "Tier System" posting on AVS?
Seems pretty accurate, especially the amazing computer-animation genre.
