Which 40" HDTV

Hi,

I'm currently in the process of upgrading my tv from an old CRT to an
LCD. I quite like the sound of the SONY Bravia's particularly the
KDL-40W2000U, however before I spend £1300 on it I thought I'd better
check that it best meets my needs.

The Bravia S, V and U equivalent sized screens are considerably
cheaper and from what I can tell the main difference is the screen
resolution 1920x1080 as opposed to 1360 x 768 and the display format
720p instead of 1080p.

My main use of the tv will be for watching Digital tv (possibly SKY
HD) and initially DVD's though I may upgrade to HD-DVD/BluRay in the
future.

My question then is will there be any noticeable benefit from me
getting the higher spec'd model based on what I will be using it for.
Obviously I also want to be reasonably future proof but is it worth
the extra 500 -600 based on my usage? If anyone has any other
suggestions of other 40" lcd's that may be suitable please let me
know.
