If all this "works out" on Friday, I'm getting rid of the HD "Cox Box"
so, if the channels you mention DO really move down to the upper VHF
area, I will be in trouble if the DB8 won't pull them in. ;(. Two of
them, KABC-DT and KCAL-DT are top favorites here. The only good thing
if what you mention happens, is that the HARD part will be done, i.e.,
the mount, the mast, and the in-house RG6 cabling. I would only have
to exchange the DB8 with a 4228 and my 7775 Pre-Amp for a 7777. That's
just money, not a lot of work. <g>
Don't count on the CM4228 (or any UHF only antenna) pulling in any VHF at
60 miles. I've got one channel on 9 here and the 4228 won't pull it in
from 42 miles. I tied my old combo antenna in with the new UHF antenna to
get the vhf station. I mounted the combo about a foot below the UHF
antenna and tied them together with a reverse splitter. Works fine for me.
