for ATSC reception and recording. Now, it does down convert the recording
to NTSC. And while some of the new ones (like Panasonic EZ17) don't give
you HDTV out, I'm pretty sure this one will. ALthough for what he wants a
converter for it doesn't matter since he doesn't have an HDTV monitor or
TV. He just needs a basic converter for ATSC and this will do the job. If
not, then he can get an easy full refund within 30 days. Do you own some
Samsung stock? I see you push their newer ATSC STB a lot when it's not
really the best solution in many cases since the new recorders came out.
